Exhausts

It's important to keep an eye on the performance of your exhaust components because every MOT test requires an emission test to be carried out on your car. If there are holes in your exhaust system then the emission test will reveal an unacceptable and therefore illegal percentage of toxic emissions, and your car will fail its MOT test.

But keeping an eye (and an ear) on the health of your exhaust system is important for another vital reason: if the exhaust isn't taking by-products from spent fuel away from the car, they may be misdirected inside towards passengers instead. Exhaust emissions include pollutants such as carbon monoxide, which inhibit the ability of the blood to absorb oxygen. In fact, carbon monoxide can cause headaches, flu-like symptoms and chest pain. A faulty exhaust can damage the health of your car as well as your passengers. So if your exhaust is not working properly, your car will be noisy, unpleasant to travel in and suffer from poor performance.

Normally an exhaust system is made up of three separate parts, front, middle and rear. It is usually only necessary to replace one piece at a time, saving you money on the cost of a complete exhaust system.

We will gladly inspect your exhaust for you to ensure that either it is in good working order or needs a replacement part.
